The Serve

This is one of the most important strokes in tennis, the other being the return of serve. The first thing I want you to do is watch some of the pros with a smooth serve on tour to get a image of the serve you want to develop, then copy them to the best of your ability.

Fed and Serena are good players to start with, study them closely, try to see what makes their serve so fluid.

I feel this is the modern way to learn the serve or any other stroke in tennis, coaches and players have made this game more complicated then it really needs to be, thats why we need to throw all those techniques out the window. Its back to basic folks.

And remember stay loose on your serve, I find its tension that throw most players serve off!

You have to learn how to relax your whole body throughout the motion, here is the key,  focus on flowing  with your motion. But never try to crush the ball on your serve, its just a throwing motion, where the racket is moving up and out at contact.

The quicker you can learn to throw, the better your serve will be, but you have to practice more on the serve like any other strokes. Until, you can get the groove of it, then gain confidence to use it as a weapon for your game.

The serve is the one stage in play where you have complete control of the point, always remember this. Mental Toughness
